Several reasons, but generally - A) there is a biological drive to reproduce B) even if one doesn't want a baby, they sometimes happen! and C) cultural norms place pressure to conform to a certain timeline...eg, go to school, get a job, get married, have kids, retire, die.... you get the picture!

In australia you get $4000 from the government when you have a baby and guess what?......teenage pregnancy is on the rise.....Im not saying the money is why everyone here does it but $4000 is pretty tempting but logically speaking the world loses people everyday and creates people everyday.

I have been married 4 years by now and i am 32 years old...
I do believe people have babies because:
1- They THINK babies make people happy (INCORRECT)
2 - They THINK babies can save a marriage (AGAIN, INCORRECT)
3 - They THINK babies would make them better people (AGAIN, INCORRECT)
I love my life without babies and most people who have them, wish to go back in time and NOT have them.

There are numerous reasons why people have babies. I hope that the first reason is because of LOVE and the real desire for a child.

you obviously have none big factor is human existent and another is the love and joy that they bring into your life they have truly unconditional love seeing all the special things they do in life there loving smiles there is nothing warms then when a baby truly start to laugh they are so precious(not saying it's a bad thing not to have children just truly is amzing when you do) i love my babies and would have nothing else in place of them lol sunshine

Man, I think I've used this responce 3-4 times today...
People have babies to procreate and pass on their genetic material so that they, in theory, live forever.

Because everything said and done, we are still a species like any other on this planet. And our innate drive is to procreate.
Can't help it, its one of the most basic instincts that we have. (food, shelter and avoiding danger being the others)

Because they want to have children to carry on their family name. They want to become grandparents and have fun with their grandchildren.They want to watch their children grow up graduate from college,get married,and start a life of their own.

People have babies because it is deeply engrained in us to do so. We procreate to keep our bloodlines going, just like every species.
