On ALL refridgeration equipment always remember that the higher numbers represent lower temperatures. So on a scale from 1 to 6, 6 would be the coldest and 1 would be the warmest.

if it is the thermostat then 1 must be coldest as it is reading degrees
if you mean the control then 6 would be coldest
correct temp should be checked with independent thermostat
for most uses 4 degrees centegrade is correct temperature
