This forum not only gives you an opportunity to question your own beliefs, but has the added dimension of reading factual answers through links and knowledgeable responses. There are a few bigots though like Freetyme813.

Agree:

Like every forum, getting the best answer depends on asking the right questions. Learning to ask the right questions takes a lifetime and is the real point of education. I think Yahoo Answers helps to do that by providing immediate gratification for asking questions. In a society obsessed with hard facts, it is interesting the things people seem to want to know.

Yeah! I think it is educational on alot of levels, and you're still interacting with so many different people it's SO cool. Plus the added benifit of having experts/educated people answering your Q makes it SO time saving, and you can further your quest by looking up the rest if you want or asking more Q's...

If people don't give you good answers, you're at least bown to get a lead on what you need to be searching for to find the answer, and I think that's helpful enough in saving people TIME.

I LOVE it!!!

I enjoy q & a for the enterainment value. When I ask a rediculous question I always phrase it as, "have you ever ...?"
People then attack me as if I do this sort of thing when in realty I'm asking if they do. Such as the question I just put out there asking, "if anyone has ever gone up to a strangers table at a restuarant and forced themselves to puke on it". I can't wait until the answers start coming in. Enterainment pure and simple for me but it is also helpful when I need to get good information.

It offers real education less often than not. This is just a "fun" website for me. If I ever ask a remotely serious question, it's just to hear people's opinions. You really can't expect a reliable answer from the kind of people who ask questions like "hOw cYN I git aN oRgaZM?"

If you can sift through all the trash and find true questions, sure it's helpful, for the asker, it gives a broad prespective on things they question and for the answerer, it really feels good to be able to give your little 2 cents that may help someone.

Agree. Yahoo should be more careful about abuse though.
