I am straight but my Best bud happens to be gay. I am very protective of him and others who are homosexual. Do religious fanatics feel they are helping or venting? And...what ever happened to allowing God to make the judgements?

Some people just plain love to hate. Usually they will pick on the Jews or us, or anyone they can somehow subhuman. Such people will usually spout their bile at ANY opportunity, and this is a fairly good one for them.

My big observation is: PEOPLE WHO JUDGE GAYS AND LESBIANS, AND INSIST THAT WE ARE GOING STRAIGHT TO HELL, DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOD, OR THEY WOULD NOT BE TRYING TO DO HIS JOB FOR HIM(HER).

People fear what they don't understand and cannot understand what they fear. I am also straight and have many gay friends. But, to be honest with you, I wasn't always the person I am today. I was raised in the Baptist Church and lived in a box, as tends to happen. As ambassadors of God, they feel they are helping. But, they don't understand. They don't need to stand on a soap box to "help" or spread the Word. Just lead your life as God would have it and be there if people have ?'s for you. That's how I see but most people make a personal mission of it and I can't stand that. I have been the victim of those types of crusades so I am horribly sensitive when it comes to other people being treated that way. God is the ultimate judge and in the end, they will find out if they made the grade. AND Jesus also said love your neighbor as yourself.

I apologize for not answering the question but...

Julia: If your statistic is correct, why do I know so many gay people over 50?

Try getting your statistics from better sources. It seems they may be a little bit biased.

Just because you and your religious friends don't know any gay people over 40 doesn't mean they aren't out there.

That generation is still reluctant to come out. Things were different then. Many of them got married just because they felt like they had to. To get a statistic on the average lifespan of homosexuals, you would need to know what age all of them died, not just the ones who were "out."

I have addressed your comments before, but you continue to spread your filth around, so I will continue to correct you when I feel the need.

Good life

Ty

If you were truly protective of him, you would be trying to steer him away from sexual behavior which will leave him with a life expectancy of only around 40 years old.

If your friend were a pack-a-day smoker and you were truly protective of him, you'd encourage him to quit smoking. Wouldn't you?

Well, even pack-a-day smokers' life span is longer than the American gay males' is.

Go back up to the top and read my message again. You'll find that there's no "religious rhetoric" in it. It's strictly secular.

Not all objections to homosexual behavior are of the religious variety.

From a secular and medical standpoint, also, homosexuality is simply not the lifestyle one should adopt.

I guess so that they can feel like they are more righteous than someone else. If these people were truly into go like they claimed then they would know that besides the bible saying that homosexuality is wrong it also says that it is wrong for us to pass judgement on any other human being. We have no right to say who is and isn't going to hell because we don't know whats on the inside of eachother like god does. The bible also says that no sin is greater than anyother sin. all sins are equal in gods eyes. So it is wrong for people to think that they are more holy and righteous than someone who is homosexual because we are ALL sinners thats why jesus died on the cross to save all of us not just heterosexuals.

Hey! Did you ever think that's exactly what they are doing, letting God make the judgements. You think people of faith are just homophobes when they try to stand behind what God says is right and wrong in the Bible. Why don't you let God make His judgements and you get behind them. Try reading Romans1:1-27

God will judge.... I do not. The biblical account of creation shows us that homosexuality is a perversion of God's plan.

Genesis 1.26-28; 2.7-8,18,20-25 ... God's plan from the beginning was one woman + one man for all time. God created Adam and Eve .. male and female he created them. God's plan for sexual relations involved a man-woman union .. a husband and wife becoming one flesh.

Romans 1:24-32 "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the" same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I am not a religious fanatic, nor am I religious. I am a Christian that seeks to help. For we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Saying the Bible is a lie, and there is no God...or that God will not punish the homosexual.... does not make it so.

May your friend find the truth... which is God. The truth will set him free of Satan's lie and sin..... God bless you.

I personally think the homophobes are the ones most worried about their own sexuality.. afraid perhaps that being around such people will "turn them" or others. I've noticed that the people who aren't afraid to be around homosexual people are usually very sure of their own sexuality.

Hmm.. I don't know if that.. really.. pertained to the question..

I am also straight, with a gay friend. I am also catholic, so I understand why religion is so important. People truly want to express their opinions, and are a little to close-minded to question the bible. It is truly sad how much violence is provoked by religion, gay violence, the crusades, just...everything! I suppose it is good to hear both sides of every story, even if we don't agree.

Religious fanatic people always post stuff on here because all they want is attention and a reaction, and to get people all riled up, because they have nothing better to do!
