Right now my small playdough tile art is encased in saran wrap. I want the playdough to harden, but not crack.

well the easiest way to keep it from cracking is to spread a small amount of cooking oil on it (depending on how big it is ) and set it out in the sun for a bout an hour an it should be hardened and not cracked:)

The way we always preserved playdough figures was simply to let it sit out in the sun for a few days. Alternatively, you could try putting a sample piece in the oven on low (200/250 degrees or so) for a while and see if that works.

Put it in the fridge for like 30 min and then take it out!!

Put it on the frezzer until it's hard and then spray the best, hardest hairspray that you can find all over it!!!

I am not sure, but I have been told that it can be fired and if so it ca be glazed!
