First, whe you get your kit, make sure it has good fresh green henna. Black henna is not real henna and can be very dangerous. make sure its been sifted and then stir in some cool black tea/ sugar mixture. - cover and let sit for 2 hours- add teaspoon of oil. mix mix mix- recover and let sit overnight. (10ish hours) when it leaves an orange dot- its ready. Use it on clean skin and let it dry.leave it on as long as possible- you caqn use a lemon sugar solution to seal it on- THEN-(the real secret) STEAM IT GENTLY- then let it dry- then STEAM IT OVER AND OVER- letting it dry in between. be careful not to smear the design or get it so wet it runs. after you have sealed and steamed it, wrap it in a light cotton bandage type thing and go to bed. the next day- the color-YOWZA!!!!

My kids always put oil on their skin after the henna had been rinsed off and completely dried. I don't think its a good idea though--seems like it might make in come off. It IS a good idea to have your skin COMPLETELY dry, with no oily soap or lotion residue before you put in on the tatoo. Have fun!

Leave it on longer, or apply it twice.
