I was in my local town centre and it was very busy. A group of girls who I believe were on a hen night or something were walking together, thery were obviously drunk. One of the girls stumbled out into a road and a van which was going too fast was coming straight for her, I grabbed her and got here out the way, I did not hurt her by doing this but she tripped on a curb with here high heels and ended up spraining her rist. She is suing me for damages. People at the scene said straight away that she would have easily been hit at high spped by the vehicle. What do people make of this

Talk to a lawyer about the "good samaritan law". If you have to go to court and you win, countersue in civil court for damages, including legal fees.

Often the case for the good samaritan. Bout as bad as when the guy comes in your house to steal from you, and gets hurt and tries to sue you. I think that under the circumstances at hand you should not need worry as for the condition of the woman at the time will show that she was unable to take care of herself, and that you did what you thought was best. Tis a shame that after saving her life, she would find it in herself to try to sue you for a sprained wrist. Considering that a wrist being sprained is a far cry from being killed. This might sound mean, but maybe you would've faired better by not intervening. At least then we would have one less drunk on the planet to sue people.

I would suggest seeking legal advice, not that you really need it.

Society has changed too much. There are too many people out to make a buck. It is a sad thing that you cannot even help someone anymore without the fear of something like this. I am sorry you are going through this. You did the right thing and I hope the court system is on your side!!!

You have witnesses. The injury was caused trying to save that person from further injury. I think the judge will be on you side. Just make sure the witnesses are available to testify.

Oh my God! You poor man. I guess it is true that no good deed goes unpunished. I think you should get as many witnesses as possible to stand up in court and say she could've been killed. Maybe she will come to her senses and drop the case. Good Luck.

get police report, witness testimony, her dr. notes stating she has a hurt wrist, and find out what was the last bar she went to and see if the bartender remembers her and can say in court that she was far to drunk to be able to save her self.

She's an idiot (a greedy one at that) Make sure you got plenty of witneses and then make her look like a fool in court......(and countersue for your legal fees!)
