It kinda got a bit out of control in the dying minutes of the game. I believe it may be either the frustration of the Holland team or the rough handling by the Portuguese to frustrate the Dutch. I do think generally that it was a close fight and may become a classic later on. There may be a new rivalry brewing after this game too. Seriously if I were a referee, I wouldn't have wanted to officiate a game like that. The referee made a few bad calls and even missed calling a number of fouls.

Glad you asked. Officiating was poor. Portugal played a little dirty (especially Figo with the head butt). The result helps England's cause so I'm not complaining. Holland's tackling was also a little brutal. I must say I did enjoy the second half, and I always love to see baby Ronaldo cry.

It's obvious the Portugese took at least a 2-week training course from the Italalians on "diving" and general dirty play.
You have your win, but like the Italians, the respect for your team has dwindled.

The officiating was awful. I'm not sure why Holland didn't insert the big scorer but it was defintely an entertaining match.

that was the best match thus far. 16 yellow cards, 4 red cards, and dramas!
only thing was the referee didnt really pay attention of what has been going on (twice!)

It was one of the best games I've seen so far... very entertaining and both teams played hardcore :)

too much fighting and red cards. ruins the spirit of the game. their were fights between the crowds after the gae too.

fascinating match ..predicted to be one of the best of the competition but spoilt by the ref...someone should of given him a red card
