I know Ghana goes into the match with Brazil as the underdogs and many people expect Brazil to win that match easily. But football is not math or science where 1+1=2.Anything is possible.Though Brazil can win that match,Ghana can also win.So my question is would an upset on Tuesday be good for the world cup.At least it would dispel the myth that the World Cup is set to favour Brazil.

Yes! Go Ghana! I'm sick of all the Brazil talk. It would energize fans who say, "oh well, brazil's going to win anyway."

No it will not. Because the only way this could happen is by a really really unlucky Brazil, or a referee who is so bad and against Brazil, or by both. And that is certainly bad for the game.
Even though Cinderella stories are nice to hear in a World Cup. There is only so much they can do. You can't imagine they would advance to the final, and any time who beat Brazil certainly deserve to win the tournament. It is the end of the road for these mighty Ghanaians. It is good for the game that they have advanced so far. But I fear it is the end of the road.

The biggest upset so far was achieved by Ghana. The stage is set for a second upset. I hope they can acheive it. Aside from everything else, the WC tournament needs and desires change. One country winning all the time is a bit too much. I know those who support Brazil will disagree but a change needs to come.

Kwame, a nice question nicely stated.

I don't think an upset will be either good or bad for the cup; it doesn't matter in that sense.

Two additional points:

> There is no myth that the World Cup is set to favor Brazil -- they won all their 5 cups fairly.

> Even though I respect your country's achievements and agree that football is unpredictable, and knowing that Robinho is injured and won't play, I still think Brazil will win.

That would be a welcome change. Sure Brazil is a great team, lots of talent, futbol is their way of life! But I'm not the type to route for the sure winners. I love seeing the underdogs get a bite at a leg or two, so why not!

Kwame B-T, is this you??? I would love to see Ghana knock off the Brazilians. It would be great for the game. Plus, they have the best goaltender so far at this World Cup... in my opinion.
