It does not really matter what we think, what matters is - did he get a red card? and the answer is no Luis Figo did not get red carded. So he will play ~ no suspension.

I bet you're an England fan!! Me also would love to see England go to the semi-finals ~ but against the Portugal we saw play against Holland, let's be honest - England stands no chance of progressing.

I do!
(To ARK: Did you really watch the match with your own eyes or are you a blind fan of PORTUGAL? Besides, the question is only about Luis Figo not the whole team.)
(To ARK again: Then you have to cry after Portugal's match against England if you really do love Portugal so much.)
(To Siyanda: Don't you know that portugal is playin'g the next match with 8 players only and 5 of them have already got yellow cards?)
(I think fungi below has some brain.)

Yes, FIFA can look at anything during the match and take any action they think is warranted. I think Figo should and will be suspended.

As for the other erroneous answer. Portugal will start the England game with 11 players, just Costinha, Deco, and possibly Figo will not be among them.

I'm suprised the referee did not give a red card... but then he didn't see it. It should've been red by a normal referee's standards nevermind this card giving maniac of a referee. Well, Luis Figo can't be suspended because he was "punished" in the match and you can't be punished for an action twice. I think Fifa would have banned him had he not got the yellow card so justice was not done. In fact, quite the opposite!

Well, F. Totti was suspended from the European Cup when he spat at Poulsen: that was caught in TV and not by the ref.
If the FIFA officials are honest...

btw: I am NOT an England fan - on the contrary - I am sure Portugal will beat England, with or without Figo.

The dutch may not be saints, but they also didnt deliberately headbutt someone. Its one thing from playing dirty and tripping when someone actually has the ball, but its entirely different from someone to hit someone in the face, unrelated to the ball. He SHOULD be suspended.

I dont agree that he should be suspended. The Dutch players weren't quite saints, either.
