Whenever i have my day planned, everything goes perfect and in order. I get what needs to be done, done and i am happy well.. content . When im spontaneous, i have fun and enjoy what i do but then i have consquences to pay. For example, im on diet and i decide to eat a big mac and large ice cream cone..yum right? Well, after i either get fat or i have to workout twice as hard later on and then im not happy. I know life is about taking risks and bla bla bla but i dont have time to deal with consequences that make my day worse. At this point in my life, i decide who im going to be and what life i will lead for the rest of my life. So, which one?

I think you need to have a healthy mix of both routine and spontaneity. The routine helps you hold a job and function normally in day to day living. The spontaneity keeps things fun, new, prevents boredom and makes you happy Two much of anything is not healthy so a balance is needed.

You should definitely have a routine set for your life. Never be afraid to have a plan and stick to it. Especially if it works out for you. At the same time, don't let your life be run by routine. It's okay to have spontaneous fun every once in a while. Look at what is important in your life. Use your best judgment, and decide. If it's about your future, make a plan. If it's about what you're going to do two weekends from now, relax, let that come in it's own time. If you over plan, there is often no excitement and everything becomes, well, predictable. Let life come in it's own time. In the meantime, have fun with the present.

Both.

Routine is good in that you know what to expect, so life is less stressful.
A change or surprise is nice too. That's where spontaneity comes in.
During the week, follow a routine. It's easier if you work, have kids in school, etc. On holidays and weekends, mix it up. Do something out of the ordinary and have fun.

Nothing should be "all or nothing". My opinion... Plan your life, know what you are going to be doing 10 years from now. However, one day a week or once a month or two weeks a year, whatever....give yourself some "impulsive" time to do what you want when you want..I mean within some sort of limits.

For the record, I live my life almost the exact opposite of this...planning for things now and then and doing whatever I want on a whim most of the time. How's that working? Not very well. Without planing, my choices seem more determined by people and forces beyond my control.

As a person who eats the same thing for breakfast every morning and has a set routine for getting ready in the morning, I have to say that routine makes life a lot easier.
You know how much time you have and how much time you need, and so you know when you need to get ready.
It's just convenient from that point of view.

You need to find a good mix of both. Life would be dull if it was all routine. You need to plan out your priorities and make that routine, then let the small, fun things be spontaneous so that you dont suffer bad consequences from it!

Both. Live by a routine from Monday through Thursday and be spontaneous Friday through Sunday. That makes life interesting...)(

If you want, want. If you want to do, do. You have to be spontaneous, or else you will get boreing. Enjoy life and all it brings. Dont live life like the rules tell you to, your dreams will all be small.23461237845123485621348, see that was spontaneous.

Go with a routine but keep an open mind in case an interesting opportunity should show itself.
