We cry, in my opinion, not because the person died, but because we don't have them any more. When a baby is born, we are happy because we have someone. The circle of life is just that. Born, life, death and on and on. When you have a death occur, the LIFE should be celebrated and mourn the lose just like we celebrate the new LIFE of a baby. That to me is the meaning of life and what we strive for. To make an impression on people that we come in contact with everyday. You aren't destined to be here, you are chosen and that is a gift. No one cares what you have or look like in the end, just what kind of person you have become. Celebrate every day, every life, every death and teach others to do the same and respect each cycle.

Maybe the soul just moves on to the spirit world when we die and comes into the physical when we are born. It is good to cry, maybe the soul is singing when crying.

I say it is because when you loose someone, You feel empty inside so you mourn them..
But when a child is born, you feel the joy of taking care of someone that you created.
And you are going to die as well.
It's the circle of life...

Some cultures celebrate death like they celebrate life - I think that is better, because it shows that the cycle of life is continuing.

we cry when people die, cause we know its the end of their life and that we will miss them...as for baby, we welcome whats new, and so we are happy when we have babies.....specially if they are our own, cause they are an extention to our own lives.....

We cry because of our own loss. We are happy with babies because it is life-affirming.
