Read the amp rating on the timer and the amps of the fan. Make sure the amp rating of the timer is higher than the fan

I am an electrician. It is safe- just like putting it on a wall switch (like the lights). The timer turns the current off and on like a switch.

Why not. Except buy a good time with Amp. capacity larger than your fan. I think your fan need about 3 amp and timer should be good for 5 amp.

I would not put it on a start timer but a stop timer would be no problem
