Figo will be suspended for at least one game, probably more. If you remember 2 years ago in euro 2004 Italy's Totti was caught by the camera spitting on a danish opponent. No one saw this in regulation time as it was well behind the play, but fifa studied the tapes and discovered this incident. He was suspended for 3 games. Im thinking a head butt is worse than that.

Figo should be publicly executed on the pitch just before the England-Portugal game. It will be a delightful appetizer to the main course of England publicly humiliating Portugal.
And although England hasn't played to their potential thus far, they are one of the only teams that has yet to be out-played by an opponent in this tournament (Germany is the other team).
Portugal was outplayed by Holland, it's just a shame that the officiating interfered with the final result.
Brazil was outplayed by Ghana, but the Africans simply couldn't finish any chances.
Argentina was lucky to escape Mexico; even though the winning goal was the second nicest of the tourney so far (Joe Cole's was the nicest, no question).
France has been outplayed by everyone and their mother, but are now back on track (smashed Spain's face!).
Italy was outplayed by Ghana, the US and Australia! It is a real shocker that they managed to even get out of their group, let alone in first place. Again, poor officiating interferred with the final result in the round of 16 game (even though it was still kind of toss-up had it gone into extra time).
The only good game that England has been apart of so far was against Sweden, which included two VERY lucky goals for the Sweds (even though they did play very well), the second one was unintentional!!! The reason for this is because they are yet to play a team (with the exception of Sweden) that has played to win. Paraguay, Trinidad, and Equador played overly defensive with the intention of a draw. Which made no sense in the round of 16; Equador should really look at the rules (DRAWS DON'T ADVANCE!). Anyone playing against a team that is putting 80-100% to simply fend off goals is going to appear to suck.
Now that the stage is set for Portugal, both teams will be playing to actually win. And although Portugal is an excellent side, then are weaker in defense, mid and striking than the English; just look at the players, there is no contest.
That all being said, every match is up in the air, there is no such thing as a sure win at the point. May the best team win, and hopefully the officitating wont skew the results!

NO! Figo should not be suspended, first of all, that Ref was such a horrible ref, for some reason every ref Portugal has, the ref is always unfair to them, like when Portugal faced Mexico, The Ref barely ever called anything on Mexico, mainly Portugal, same with every other game, check, I dont care, go on Rogers On Demand and watch the replays of all Portugal games, every Ref is unfair mostly in the first half, then they get a change of heart, but just a little. And second of all, Portugal had no choice but to be agressive, when the first Yellow card was givin, right away the insticts of all players was "this wil be a tough game. So of course they're going to be agressive, and Renaldo was hurt so bad, so that stupid English guy shoutl be suspended as well, NOW THAT KICK WAS UNNECESSARY!! Whatever, Lets just hope Figo isnt suspended, if he is, I riot. And all you dumb people who think he should be suspended for life are complete morons, ONE aggresive headbutt wont get someone suspended for life, STUPIDS!!

Without a doubt. Once FIFA looked at the video, and they will, FIGO will be suspended for at least 1 game, perhaps more. The headbutt was as bad as the elbow in the U.S.-Italy game. Sure, no blood, but certainly with intent. I'm not an English fan (GO GERMANY !), but while England sucked today (and throughout the tournament so far), I doubt that Portugal can take them without 3-4 of their stars. I feel sorry for Ronaldo, perhaps the best player in the world and hope he'll be healthy.

For a player to be suspended for the following match, he has to be given a red card by the referee in the field of play. Apart from that, he can still play the next game ~ and Luis Figo will play the next game. Sorry England, you can't escape ~ if you must live the stage you must live.

If he gets tossed Holland needs to have several fines since they're out of play and can't toss anybody.
I hate to say it, but I laughed when I saw it. You can't put 100% of the blame on Figo - anyone would have lost it after that poor showing from the ref.

Without a question. That was an unnecessary, nevermind unprofessional and senseless headbutt. He will surely be punished for that especially that it heated the game and resulted in more confrontations.

Haha -- that's what the English are hoping for -- that's the only way they'd have a chance to win the Saturday game.
