I totally agree with you. Kids today have no religion or God. That means that Satan will take over their spirits and he has. There is definitely more evil in kids since there is little consequences to their evil deeds. They have no conscience. If kids followed the 10 commandments, the USA would be a much better place to live. I think that all the psychotic drugs kids are on in the schools for ADHD and ADD are one of the direct results of taking God and prayer out of the schools. When I went to school, none of the kids had to take these medications for self-control, etc.

I agree with you...I think things have changed for the worst. A few years ago when kids went to school they said the Lords prayer before school started in the classroom. No one ever had a problem with it, everyone prayed. The world was a lot better place to live in too. Kids were different then too. Not like they are now.

Prayer is in schools now, just not COMPULSORY prayer. I have to ask you, if your child isn't praying on his/her own, why not? Is the school to be expected to raise the children FOR the parents or do the job for which they exist --- EDUCATION.

As for chastising children I have no idea what you are talking about. I chastise mine all the time, and there have even been moments of corporal punishment in our household. Scary huh, taking responsibility for PARENTING YOUR CHILDREN. Stop expecting everyone ELSE to do it.

What ?? and make the whole class pray when many of the students might not be the same religion. Many might not believe in the same Deity. Any one can pray any time they wont as long as they do not impose it upon others.

The section you posted this says QUESTION not STATEMENT. Until then try to pose (impose) your beliefs in the form of a question.

Parents can still chastise there children just not beat them into a coma .................. By the way social services are on their way

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard ! Are we all supposed to be narrow minded bible thumps like your self ? I know , how about we go back a couple hundred years and start burning doctors at the stake for witch craft while were at it ? would this please you ?

Respect start at home not at school ! It's not the schools job to teach your kids respect and if you want your kids to pray at school , then take them to Sunday school !

If you took the time to teach your kids to be respectful they would be just that ! Further more you have every right to discipline your children , but that doesn't mean beat them ! A swat on the butt or a trip to the corner always worked for my kids !

So buy a clue and don't be a narrow minded idiot !

you are a class "A" idiot. What does prayer in school do, nothing. If I had prayed today I would not have shot up that school you honor, great defense. Make America better take mothers out of the workplace, put them back in the home. That would make america better.

Ummm. You can pray in school all you want. Prayer just cannot be led by a school official. There is a big difference between those two things.

I think the opposite. I think what is degrading the USA and dividing the ppl are because of the rightwing that wants to dictate to the rest of us what to believe and do with our lives.

This is causing much division and ppl are getting angry about it. You have to understand why it isn't constitutional for prayer to be in the schools. The main problem is that when you allow one religion to pray then that opens the window to the rights of all other religions to practice their forms of prayer. IE, muslims pray by kneeling on the floor at specific times, etc....

See what I mean? Then the next thing you know there might be some off the wall religious groups wanting 'their time' allowed, etc..

And if you allow it for one religion you HAVE to allow it for the others because public schools are paid for with tax dollars. If ppl want the 'special right' for their children to pray in school then they have to pay for that special right by putting their children in a private religious school.

It's that simple. And I think teaching our children that we have to recognize all the different types of ppl who pay taxes in this country is a good thing... not detrimental like your question implied.

By teaching them to recognize the rights of others, our children learn that we are not a country of dictators... that we have freedom of religion and the minority groups are also ppl. That is a good thing.

Also, it is up to the parents to teach religion to their children, not the schools that are paid for by tax paying citizens. Also, if we allowed it then who gets to pick what religion is taught... Like I said before, if you want your children to have that special right then pay for that right by sending them to a private religious school but don't force it on other ppl's kids who might not believe the same as you.

Who would we pray to? Our culture is diverse. Are we only going to pray to Christian symbols or Muslim. Let's not forget Jews or wick-ens. What about Taoist lets not forget them. Would it be OK to pray to Satan? Religion has no place in schools. It belongs at home. Sure you can pray to your deity all you want but schools are not in the evangelical business we leave that for the con artists.
