yes a lightitng strike close to a car can drain and even kill a car battery.

I've had lightning strike very close to me several time and nothing happened to the car at all.

Anywhere lighting strikes directly or close by is usually zapped. So the answer would be yes.

no what would not happen being the car was on rubber tires you most likely have a short that is doing it
