Why is it that when you tell a man there
are 400 billion stars he will believe you, but

to touch it?

Because he wants to see for himself. He has already seen that the night sky is so full of stars that 400 billion does not seem unreasonable. However, he has not had the chance to verify the existence of this particular wet paint before, so he has to test it.

The 400 billion stars are too far away...he has to believe you. The paint is close to him, so he can feel it and find out for himself!

Maybe because you can actually verify that there's wet paint and you can't verify that there are 400 billion stars? You want to test things out for yourself. :O)

well there's really nothing they can do about the star thing right? i mean they can't reach out and count em or anything, so they sort of have to believe you, however, they can make sure the paint is wet.

I've just read your question, looked up to my hubby painting & he's put his other hand on the wall that's drying!
You're right, they just have to touch wet paint, I think it's a male thing!
