I am 13 weeks pregnant and everyone thinks it is a boy. I did the Chinese Lunar calendar thing and it said boy. I KNOW it is a girl. I just can feel it, I can't even think of it in terms of a boy, and it is not because I want a girl, I have just felt like that from the moment I found out I was pregnant. Any similar experiences mom's??

My doula (child birth coach) told me that statistics show that mother's are correct about the sex of the baby 70% of the time (so YES there is something to say for your intuition - otherwise, it would by a 50% chance). I know you probably wont, but if you remember, please let me know the sex when you find out! I am curious to see if youre right...by the way, everyone thought my daughter was a boy, but I knew better...from the very beginning I knew. and I was right. She is the love of my life!

I think you might be able to use the mother's intuition; however,
years ago they use to say if the heart beat was around the 140's
it was a boy. If the heart beat was around 180's it was a girl. Might try asking the doctor if he can tell you the heart beat each time you go in...and they use to say you are all out in front for a boy and big all over for a girl. Congratulations and Best Wishes.

Dont start decorating in all pink just yet...wait until you find out for sure!! I thought for sure i would have a girl...and the ultrasound said BOY! Everyone was right and i was wrong...so sometimes the things we want can get in the way of our actual intuition...

Good Luck..you will love the baby either way!

You are not alone. I have 3 children and on all of them I picked out names for that particular sex. I immediately named the first a boy, the second a girl, and the third a girl. I did not even think of a name for the opposite sex. And as you said it wasn't because I wanted any particular sex, its just that feeling you have and the bond that you feel already. Its amazing how are instincts are so honed when we are pregnant!

well isnt that a big question. some say and others dont but really everyone could but very few do. which is a shame but it seems that we are going in that direction and the only way to find the truth would be by mothers intuition

I think it because we think of babies as weak and tiny and frail and that coincides with women more than men. I am sure you will be happy with whatever sex you have but don't start painting the Nursery Blue yet. I do believe in Mother's intuition and I feel its usually 98% right on!

Well, you have a fifty-fifty chance either way. Just don't start planning the pink nursery yet.
