IF a Mexican was able to read? IF?????

Um... many Mexicans can read, just fine, and many of those are fluent bilingual readers... both those that are US citizens AND those that are legal immigrants.

I happen to be married to a person of Mexican heritage, who is a US citizen, and has a Master's Degree from a US university... and teaches high school English.

He reads whatever he feels like reading.

My children are (of course) also of Mexican heritage. One is being tested for the Gifted program at her school. Both can read.

Get over your prejudice already!

the speech given by their president on why they all need to migrate to the US. Shoot! Wait,it's already in spanish. Oh wait! I got one: their food stamps and the specified item so they won't stay and argue with the cashiers and the line can move along a lot faster since most of us just want to pay with what's left from our taxes and get the heck out of the line

Do you mean in English or Spanish? Age is a factor, too.

Most of all, read what interests and educates you. I favor the Bible.
