How many of you knew about a band called Kraftwerk before Coldplay "borrowed" their music.?

I've been a Kraftwerk fan since my Dad gave me one of their albums when I was like 5 or 6.
Coldplay sucks and they use Kraftwerk tunes (especially the melody from "Computer Love" as the intro to "Talk") so people think they're good.

I did .They are from Germany.I have most of their records.And I do mean 33.3 vinyl records.Loved them.

The only reason I've ever heard of Kraftwerk is because they made fun of it on the Simpsons.

I didn't even know that there was a band called kraftwerk. but as for coldplay "borrowing" their music what do you mean? apart from m.c.r they are one of the best bands at the moment.

Yes, I did know of them previously. I was into techno-pop in highschool in the 80's. While searching for more I found in a small record shop thier first album, "Autobon" not sure on the spelling. It was from the mid-70's. Needless to say I wore out the LP. I also used it in a term report for music appreciation class. Got a "D" as East German pop music wasn't very popular with my jewish professor.

Kraftwerk was a german electronic band.
Coldplay doesnt sound one bit like them.

yeah --kraftwerk were great!!!--so was tangerine dream--gentle giant -pfm---etc-----bon bon bon on the autobaun!!!kraftwerk i think was the first solely electronic band i ever heard!!!----then came tangerine dream!!!----
