Kidman feared the growing hold her husband's religion had on their family. A close family friend from Los Angeles said yesterday Kidman had fought against the strong influence of the LA-based church throughout her 10-year marriage.
"'Nicole had been pursuing him for some years to get away from the church, and his passion had cooled,' the friend said. 'She had some success, but for some reason -- and she doesn't really know why -- he has become really deeply involved in the past two months. Guess Tom didn't have what it took. Now our Nichole is married to another Aussie she can get married wherever she likes.
Tom is a loser anyway, Nick deserved better.
My best wishes are with the newly married couple. Keith Urban is a down to earth Australian and they look so happy.

she wasn't into Scientology in the first place...
the fact is : Mr. Tom " idiot " Cruise is a manipulative pig who holds his women in the neck just to join him and his crap religion.
he gets attention and support from his women ( Nic included ) by presenting them into his not-so-infamous circle of alien friends. Nic on the other hand realized that his weird company is causing her to breathe eww.., smoke from Pluto., and that's when she divorced him!
now., Miss Katie "pinhead" Holmes is so obsessed w/ this guinea pig cruise that she is willing to disown her family and even favored not showing her daughter to her family after she gave birth, just because its a Scientology thing...
Nic has the right to marry in ANY church she likes! as long as its not in the Scientology laboratory!!!

She has always been Catholic her entire life. They share both churches with the kids. But I don't think she ever left the Catholic faith. I think her and Tom were married in the church. I don't think he was into all this hubba bubba stuff when they first married.

She left the only path to total freedom. She will never be as fulfilled as the rest of us Scientologists and after leaving she has clearly shown she doesnt share our vision for "A world without insanity, without criminals and without war - where the able can prosper, where honest beings have rights and man is free to reach greater heights" LRH.

The funny thing was, she was a Catholic.
Catholics are shunned if you get divorced, and it's forbidden for you to remarry.
