A yellow card is carry on during the first and second phase of the tournament (first round and round of 16).
* For the quaterfinals is a clean start for all the players, except for a red card or the accumulation of 2 yellow cards in the previous game .
* Begining the quaterfinals the yellow cards are carry on, until the end of the tournament. And at the end of the tournament all the yellows cards are reset, except:
* If a player gets a second yellow card, in the final game in which his team participated, he will carry over the punishment to the next international game of his team, when he plays (he has to be in the team roster).
* If a player gets a red card, in the final game in which his team participated, he will carry over the punishment to the next international game of his team, when he plays (he has to be in the team roster).

If the player received one yellow card in the first round it is forgotten. A second yellow card in the first round and you'll miss the next game, even if said game is in the second round.

In the second round, if you receive a second yellow card you will miss the next game. If you get a 2nd yellow card in the same game, you will be sent off (duh) and depending on FiFa might miss another game (or more, see Italy's player who was banned for 4 games !).

Portugal will miss quite a few players in the upcoming game(s) and upon review FIGO might be banned for a game or 2 for headbutting (the ref didn't see it).
