So many good views, guys. Thanks you somuch for contributing. But for now, please excuse me... Portugal POrtugal Porugal Portugal !!! YOui guys just have no need to remember... but the Dutch have been helped by referees against anyone that plays them in major tournaments. POLITICS. This is why Portuguese players had enough of it... We are good... we can win. so why should we have referees helping these orangies ? What the hell is football about anyway.. POLITICS or ENTERNTAINMENT ?

Romanis2006 -- you are well informed and thank you for the info. However, this only happens (1) Holland being favoured and (2)onnmajor tournaments.- There are hundreds of people who have emailed from around the world saying that they know that Plortugal is always DONE when ever they play the HOlland. We are talking her HISTORY... not just a separate, ilolated match... Find nearby my 'question' BEFORE the HOland match where I so state... referees helpong Holland and the ortuguese players KNOW IT... And the HOland players thought they were going tobe protected by the refereees and that is why they started out rough AND roNALD INJURED. they came UNSTUCK THIS TIME. Maybe the fact that thereferees was russian... and they bought Maniche, WHAT A GOAL, Manice...

I now fear the match between England and Portugal andreferees again. I HONERSTLY believe that it is 'planned' for England to face the Germans in the final... POLITICAL

I leave you with this though: SPORT IS SUPPOSED TO BRING COUNTRIES TOGETHER... Politics in sport is preventing that, right ?

Wonderful match between the two teams. It was what I was expecting. Holland disappointed me greatly though. I really did expect them to be on top of their game today ~ but I was let down.

Good fight put up by Portugal and England are in for a big fight next Friday ~ they better be ready.

16 yellows & 4 reds ~ the most booked game so far, but very good refeering. The referee was excellent - the players were very physical. Judging by the players' behaviour, the referee was very linient. It could have been worse,

portugal seems to have been eliminated from the tournament as well.thanks to fifa guidelines to "help the show", and valentin ivanov's misinterpretation of them, some of the best players will be out.
we had seen far two many yellows in other games, this one topped them all. yellows were kept in the pocket, some of the ones shown were completely stupid. the russian referee did an awfull job.
by the way: holland not giving the ball back after the game being stopped for player assistance, how low was that?

Being portuguese, I apologise for the excesses shown by some of our players. Having said that, I have only this to add: Portugal still has more than enough to win over England. Whoever says the contrary is fooling themselves.
Anyway, we'll see in a few days, won't we?
Go Portugal!!!
England, you're next!!!

Look at all 4 red cards, can you blame him? I think not. To be really fair, the Dutch player should have been the first to go, for that dreadful tackle on Ronaldo.

Also Mr Ivanov was a former player( for Torpedo Moscow), so your argument about referees not knowing the game, doesn't hold water.

It is the players who are to blame for not respecting the Laws.

They are 4 , not 6 red, but - yes, what a referee! England really has a day. I hope Cristiano Ronaldo isn't bad injured so at least him will play against England.

It was 16 and 4.

Of course British TV is having a field day over it. It just put their s**tty team into the semis, where they'll get annihilated by either Brazil or Spain.
