It really depends. Sometimes stupid jokes can be funny simply because they are so ridiculously stupid. Much the same way people can find "Spongebob", and similar shows, funny.
My favorite stupid joke:
Why couldn't the 11 year old get into the pirate movie?
Because it was rated ARRRRRR!
HAHAHAHA, get it??? ARRRR, like the pirate? HAHHA what a kneeslapper.
See? It's just ridiculously, mind numbingly stupid. Who likes to laugh at stupidity? I know I do.
