You'll never get the smell out, so just ditch the carpet. Or get a lot of really cheap beer and cover the rest of the carpet so it'll match. Then when you get desperate for a beer, you can just lie down and suck the floor.

First of all, you need to blot up the excess beer. Wringing the cloth out over a glass is entirely up to you. You can scrub the carpet with warm soapy water, blot, and then after it dries, spray with febreez. It's a wonderful invention. I've used it on cat pee, and it works.

Dab up spills as soon as it's feasible, then use Resolve carpet cleaner per mfg instructions. It cleans up almost anything you spill on thecarpet.

Clean? That's a waste of good beer. Get a dog so he or she can enjoy your drunken spills. C'mon! What are you thinking man???

Big, fuzzy straw. More fuzzy straws if your friends are over to help.
