If a married man has an affair with a woman, they are both having an affair. So, one man ( having an affair) + one woman ( having an affair ) = One of each/2 so the ratio is 1:1. Same goes for if the woman is the one married and the man is not. In all reality, I would have to say women. I have been run through the thrasher with cheating women. But I bet that statistically, men probably are the bad guys in this case. Okay, now I just confused myself.... hmmmm.....

Women used to be stay at home moms and did not get out except for grocery shopping or dinner with spouse. Men could say they were working late, on a business trip, etc.
Today, both have affairs. I think it is still mostly men as women are still the ones who usually stays at home with the kids.
Why? One wants to feel attractive, sexy, wanted, held. Sometimes that may get lost in a long term relationship. When one has a hum drum routine for so long, and something new and exciting starts the blood flowing again, one tends to follow that excitement forgetting the coincidences it will incur in the future.

No. I mean what do people really think? That there are only like 20 women having affairs with all the cheating men out there! Men are cheating with someone (& as long as its a heterosexual relationship) the party on the other side is a woman.

Well I think it depends on the demographics like different generations and environments and social structure. In North America. I could be that men more but mind you since the sexual
revolution of women the tides have turned and changed. Women to also do cheat for reasons that could be good and or very bad.

Yes because when it comes to sex men cannot control them selves and women can. Men don't think with their minds. And plus women that have a good man and love him will not cheat, but if a man has a good woman and loves her he will still cheat.Men are more careless then woman. Now a days woman cheat just as much as men because they have been hurt and cheated on so much.

Actually, when you look at the work force, both sides have an equal chance of having an affair. Most affairs happen between coworkers.

Men are more likely to cheat without ending their current relationship because sex for men, in general, is more physical than emotional. Women, on the other hand, are more likely to cheat when they are contemplating ending a relationship and beginning a new one because, in general, women cheat because they are not being emotionally fulfilled by their current relationship.

theres more men have affairs then women. because men think with there little head than their big ones. and women have affairs usually because they are looking for something other an the tired man they have at home. (they are lacking attention and affection.)

I think both sexes are capable of having affairs though i'd be inclined to say men cause mine did to me not long ago! I think they can lie and hide the guilt better than us women probably could. x
