I have never seen the original, so consider that when reading my opinion.
For a horror/thriller movie, I thought it was pretty good. While it was fairly predictable and some of the acting wasn't too great, there was substance to it beyond the "jump out and scare you" mentality.
And, because I'm a wussie, I couldn't sleep that night, but that doesn't mean anything.

I haven't seen it,but how scary can it be with Julia Stiles in it,hell she played in " 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU" and "SAVE THE LAST DANCE",although she is a good actress,don't get me wrong,I think the first one would have been a lot scarier.

I haven't seen it yet, but it looked so good. Have you seen the original? From the trailer, it looked like it was going to be like the old one.

if you have seen the old ones then you will probably find it repetitive and not scary because you already know the story however most remakes are never as good as the original.

the original Oman was`nt anything to sit on the edge of your seat for like the Exorcist was, and I heard the critics on tv say it was a disappointment.
