What do you have to wear in an English Equtation class?

In Equestrian class one would wear riding britches, which are tight and stretchy. A waistcoat (vest) and a riding half-coat (jacket). Oh, I almost forgot some sort of blouse or shirt under the waistcoat. Riding boots (knee boots.)
Or you could you do what we do out west: jeans, t-shirt and a good pair of old cowboy boots.

Generally for an english equitation class at a horse show, a rider would wear tan or green-ish beige breeches (ideally the ones that zip at the side rather than front-zip), a hunt coat in a dark color, a "ratcatcher" shirt with a collar, tall black field boots (the ones with laces at the ankles), black leather gloves and a black helmet (with hair in a hairnet under helmet). Styles and trends vary depending on what type and/or level of horse show you will be attending.

It depends upon the level of the show. Some only require boots with heels and a helmet. Others dictate that you wear light colored britches ( no white unless it is a dressage competition too ), a rat catcher shirt with a banded collar and a pin in the middle of it, a hunt coat, ( preferably dark in color ) tall boots and helmet.

Actually everyone's assuming it's hunter...and following that in an English SADDLE SEAT would be incorrect. What are you riding and what kind of "English" (saddle seat or hunt seat)?
Either way make sure your tack is clean; clothes clean and your horse sparkling.
