Think someone from England paid him off to get as many guys suspended for the next match as possible?

It's a classic case of parent and child, the child gets out of hand and the parent thinks the best way to bring the child in check is to offer more punishments and that makes the child more rebellious. The ref has lost the respect of the players and thus his control over the match and he is just giving away unwarranted cards. And that is just making the case worse. The refs in this WC need to have their heads examined.
Or is it FIFA's pressure on them that is producing these results?

the refree is overreacting with the cards . alot of referees in the cup have been messing up on the calls. portugal is going to win though
