It's believed that part of the plane WAS recovered about 10 years ago... I seem to remember it was the metal box that held the radio and some of the charts. It may have been found on Truk Island, but I don't really remember for certain which island was mentioned.
I often wonder why young people in this country know so little about history. Where did you hear that Earhart's plane was anywhere NEAR the Bermuda Triangle... that is just so far from the possible truth it's hard to imagine anyone with a knowledge of history (such as a teacher), would believe it.
It isn't just this posting... sometimes I feel that most of the young people who post on here learn their 'history' from watching South Park or the Simpsons.

The Bermuda Triangle is on the other side of the planet from where Amelia Earhart disappeared.
Best wishes and God bless.

It's in the Pacific. We know roughly where. Nowhere NEAR the Bermuda Triangle, different ocean. There's no mystery to why or how or where she went down. We could get the plane if someone was willing to spend the $$$$. She went down because she ran out of gas because she was lost because she didn't have a 2-way radio because she didn't know how to run one. That was a dumb move.

It was never recovered and, considering she went down somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, I doubt very much that you'd find any piece of it in the Bermuda Triangle.

she disappeared over the pacific, not the atlantic. So my guess is its not stuck in the Bermuda triangle.

the ocean is so very very vast; there are things down there that will never be discovered......however, this does not mean, that they are not down there just the same.
