hey IT,
It may have helped...I haven't seen that java prompt come up, but now, my PC is totally lagging. I checked, and it says I have 352 MB of RAM. Is that enough? I thought I had more installed when I took it to the PC shop...would it show the increase that they made?

It shouldnt be running slower, you probably have little memory. Java takes up a lot of memory since its part of an applet and applets run on the client side using your java runtime. You might want to upgrade more memory if you dont want any lagging.

Go to Control Panel, then go to Systems. Check below under the General tab how much memory you have. If you have 128Mb-256Mb, then you will definitely need to upgrade your memory.

With any game, it takes up memory.

Did installing java at least help with what you were trying to do in the first place?

If you need more help, just contact me since I did answer your last question as well. I gave you a java runtime download link. I have no idea what that girl told you, but I program in JAVA so I know a lot about applets. I think 380+ is pretty decent.

I sent you an email of the steps you need to do to improve your computer's performance. You can email me anytime if you have more questions. The rest of the memory your computer is using might be used by your graphics card, so dont worry about that.

The answer that Sean gave above is excellent. I am guessing that you have already deleted your cache? (Cleared the temp files & cookies)....I have no other advice. Not sure how I can help, I would just follow the advice above. Good Luck!
