When you're gay (like half the people who commented on this probably arent, so they dont get it) you don't choose it. Theres a point where you realize you are different... and its usually kinda scary. So yeah, its natural. If not then why do most upper forms of mammalian life do it? Hmm?
Hello? You idiots out there with no idea what its really like to be gay? Tell me something,.. do you think we would CHOOSE to be something that gets us beaten up, politically isolated and denied some of our basic human rights? Get real... telling us gay is not natural and we should get with the opposite sex is like telling you to hook up with someone of your own sex.

Firstly I would like to challenge any of those claiming that homosexuality is a choice to show SOME evidence that they are correct. Asserting something is not evidence of course.
How can someone be born gay?
In a word, genetics. there is a great deal of scientific evidence that it is inborn. Beyond scientific evidence there is anectodal evidence.
The fruit fly study is actually fairly conclusive. But the pheremonal and eye blink studies are also compelling. I've included links below for those that are interested. Beyond that, research increasingly suggests that at least for males, X28 is the crucial gene. I am saddened by this, because I believe that once it is proven, gay people will be wiped out -- and I think that is sad, because given the number of species in which homosexuality exists (see Dr. Bruce Bagemihl's book "Biological Exuberance" from St. Martin's Press) I think it serves a purpose.

Reynolds Jones

Yes, of course it's natural. I was born Gay and I remain Gay.
On the other hand, I feel that heterosexual's make the choice to live that type of uh...."lifestyle".
On a brighter note, I've heard that some evangelical-based programs are available to help them convert to the normal and natural sexual orientation. God luv 'em. They need all the help they can get.
(Yes. Being Gay is natural and normal.)

Yes, if you're an animal. There's two schools of thought on the subject of what a human is.
I personally don't think people are animals though and so shouldn't be gay unless they have a reason.

Being gay is natural for me -- it's not for everyone because they are not gay.
I think everyone has a little gayness, too, and a little male and a a little female and a little child and a little adult... we are lots of things!

No. I don't think a person can be born that way. My logic is that girls have innies and boys have outies for a reason, but I still think that everyone has the right to live their life how they want to live it despite what others think.

It doesn't matter.
Born gay/chose it...
who cares? Why does it matter?
There are certainly people who are completely heterosexual.
There are certainly people who are completely homosexual.
Most people fall someplace in between and choose one or the other for long term commitments.
THAT is nature.

Being gay is not natural. Being gay is not something in the brain. Being gay is a choice.
