You got it--THE SOONER THE BETTER--EVERYWHERE!!! That's one thing I loved about Florida. I could go anywhere and not have to worry about the stench or difficulty in breathing. Some say it will destroy business but it hasn't in either Florida or NYC. I know I'd go into bars to hear music more. I just won't do it now. I'm really impressed with those who smoke or own businesses and still think it should be banned. Wow!

You won't like my ansewer I'm sure but hey we can ban smokers in public places if we can ban christians from all places but church and oh we really shouldn't have to look at poor people either and while we're at it how about we ban all women who don't look hot we don't want the world to see ugly americans do we? and hey we're not done yet we can ban retarded people too they just make so many people feel uncomfortable and that goes for people in wheelchairs too. you say it's a health concern? well doesn't the Mental health of people count and feeling uncomfortable around others would be stressful and stress is bad. So no let's not ban things or we'll have to ban everyone eventually. See how it starts? Now where did i put my lighter???

Smoking should only be done between consenting adults in the privacy of their own homes.
There does not seen to have been a drop off in pub business here in Scotland where public smoking has been banned recently

I agree with banning smoking in public. It will not hurt smokers to smoke in their car and go in and eat then smoke when they leave.

Do you have kids? If so do you want to go to a child friendly place or a place that feels your childs lungs with toxins? Like Mcdonalds. You think I shoudn't take my child there because of smokers? That is crazy. Smokers should have a little respect for non-smokers especially Children.

Smoking should definitely be banned in public places. Smokers choose to smoke, but their choice is not fair to the non-smokers. They choose NOT to smoke and yet they get exposed to it. My main concern is children. But you may argue that children do not go into bars. Well, I still say that smoking should be banned in bars. What about people who have asthma, or simply those who tend to easily get sick? It should be their right to enjoy a night out without getting into a coughing fit; not a smoker's right to kill others second-hand.

It's already banned in Scotland and it's great. There's no horrible smells in pubs anymore and your clothes and hair dont stink. I am not a smoker hater - I used to smoke myself - but I 100% agree with the ban. Why should non smokers have to breathe it?

IS a good thing. It does not stop people going out. Was great in Austrailai and New zealand ... clean air, Most smoked in an outdoor chill out area... Good for the poor staff too.

the only smoke should be from a smoke machine

I think it should be banned. Your rights should extend as far as they can without interfering with another persons. It is MY right to be able to breathe clean air and not increase my chances of lung cancer. If you want to smoke and ruin your body, do it at home where i won't be affected. "Smokers" are not an ethnic or religious group, they're a group of addicts. you dont get new rights because you CHOOSE to smoke (yes, i know it's addictive, but you still choose to start, you still can quit if you want to bad enough).
