Clean it with a product like Malco, that will get the top protectant layer off (which is usually what smells like new vinyl). Other than that you will just have to air it out a little bit.
Whatever you do, do not use armor all, it is really bad for vinyl. Only Malco or Vinylex, otherwise you are doing more harm than good.

I am not sure where you have the vinyl product...but if you can leave it out in the open to air out...the smell will go away. Also try Arm & Hammer refigerator baking soda in a closed off area (if item is small to fit in a zip lock bag, drawer etc... Store over night. Good Luck!

if its in a car, use Armoral. Otherwise just take some mild soap water and wipe it down, that could help.
