Intelligent people are not afraid to ask silly questions because they are secure enough in their own mental aptitude to know that they are not silly, despite what others may think. In comparison, some silly people seem to go out of their way to avoid asking silly questions, so others will have less reason to perceive them as silly. They may stop asking questions altogether (which we know is the wrong way to go about it) or attempt to ask intellectual questions (which we know is an even worse way to go about it). Tragically, it only results in more silliness.
However, it's obvious, as shown by such anonymous means of asking and answering questions as the internet, that silly people who are not bothered about others' assessments of their qualities and personal worth continue to ask silly questions.
I would say the matter of silly questions being asked exclusively by silly people is debatable to some extent. On the other hand, it remains a solid fact that only silly people follow silly advice.

No. Only stupid people are afraid to ask silly questions. The smart ones have already asked those silly questions and are now are sooo smart they aren't silly anymore. Then, when they ask a question, it isn't a silly person asking. Does that sound silly?

No, but I do think that some of the people you feel are silly are actually drunk or stoned when they ask silly questions. I also think that a lot of the silly questions come from children - who really don't know the answer (or just think they're being cute).

No, anybody can ask a silly question, silly questions are asked most of the time, when the person asking doesn't have enough knowledge on the subject being talked about.

After reading these replies you have recieved to your question, which in my opinion is not silly, I looked up the meaning of 'silly'.
Some meanings of "silly" are....
happy, innocent, helpless, humble, foolish,
lacking common sense or sound judgement.
So, in all honesty, I could change your question to read, in any number of different ways, for example, "Do you think only humble people ask innocent questions?"
The answer to your question is, no, only silly people do not ask silly questions.
But obviously, there are many silly people who answer innocent questions, with rudeness, and disrespect, and with total disregard to the asker's intention, oir feelings.

When in a quest for knowledge, there is no question that is silly, or stupid. There are only questions that are misunderstood, not articulated well, and\or not well thought out. But, to the asker the question made perfectly good sence when asked.

No question is silly. Everyone had a purpose to ask a question. Sometimes the answers may be no-brainers to you but to the person the answer is unknown and that is why they are asking it.
