It was originally held by Walter Payton at 275 then Corey Dillon beat it with 279 and then Jamal Lewis of the Ravens beat it with 311 yards rushing in a game.

It's Jamal Lewis's 295 yards vs. the Browns.
Pales in comparison to the college record, which is 406, set by LaDanian Tomlinson when he played for TCU vs. UTEP in 1999.
