We went in June and it was soooooo hot!! Much better to go in winter.

Dress for the weather; protect yourself from the sun and always carry a bottle of water with you. Plus sunscreen and a hat.

Egypt is a fascinating country with wonderful, friendly people. We toured the city of Cairo, which is another world all together, plus visited the pyramids and the sphinx of Giza, Sakkara, Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, Aswan, sailed the Nile River and flew out to Abu Simbal which was the highlight of the trip for us. We felt very safe because the the government was very serious about our safety. We went in June, which was horrendous; the heat was terrible. But the history of the country, the beautiful wall engravings, the statuary, hyroglyphics, market places, people, and our wonderful tour guide more than made up for it. The food is different from what we were used to, but very good. The sky was absolutely fabulous with no pollution and you saw people down by the river with oxen, cows, donkeys etc., and felt as though you had stepped back in time. The streets of Cairo are teeming with traffic which include jam packed buses, donkeys, camels, carts, automobiles and pedestrians, all fighting for the right of the road. We visited several bazaars, ate in the local restaurants, and generally had the time of our lives. A beautiful, haunting and gracious country and people. I hope you are able to go and enjoy it as much as we did!! Don't miss Abu Simbal; it is absolutely fascinating and the history behind it is not to be missed.

there are so many places in Egypt! let me try and help as much as i can, the temperatures are all in degrees centigrade:
between june and septmber
in Cairo now it s really hot about 35 during the day
on the north coast about 25-30 (alexandria)
on the red sea about 30 (sharm el sheikh and hurghada)
Luxor and assouan about 40 and above!
so the best time if you are hitting the beach is summer anywhere between april and october.
if you are visiting cairo or luxor and assouan stick to winter, where the temperature is between 15-25.

I LOVE Egypt - I went one year in August and it was really a bit too hot, then I went last year in November and it was just lovely - the evenings get very chilly at that time, but the days are hot enough to sunbathe

the coast of red sea is fantastic, Alexandria is amusing. summer is always have cheaper prices than winter in hotels and flights, cause it is consider not hig season here. for best months to come, it is consder from Oct. till mid May. this is the best months always. most of Egypt is desert so i was been in the westeren desert in differant 3 months, best one was in Oct. so u can compare that way. good luck and if u need any more info, contact me.

I went one year in April to Luxor and it was just right, not too hot i'd say it was about 25C.
Steer clear of End of june, july and august if you dont like it too hot as it can be well over 40C.

it is really hot in cairo these days
this depends on where you want to go
in the summer the best place is to visit Alexandria, Marsa Matroh, or any beach on the Egyptian north coast.
in the winter you can visit Sharm elshiekh or hurgada (beaches), or u can go to Cairo and Giza, Luxur, or Aswan.
