i keep asking my dad 4 a cell phone 4 emerganies cause im babysitting now and getting dropped off at the pool by myself. my mom has let me used her cell phone and i said "y cant i have a cell phone" and she said "idk".my dad let me stay home by myself cause he was going somewhere and he gave me his cell phone and i said "y cant i have a cell phone" and he said "cause" and wont give me an explaination..I NEED A CELL PHONE!

It's probally because they think that you are too young for a cell phone and will miss use it. Since you don't need a credit card for a prepaid phone, you can use your babysitting $$ to get a prepaid phone. I know that they are sorta expensive, but if you are only getting it for emerancies, then you could get the least amount of minutes. Then once you have it, and you don't miss use it, your parents may notice that you can be responsable with it, and they may get you a phone. Just don't over use it. That might be a good start :) I hope all works out for you.

First of all, cell phone bills are so much these days that they probably don't want to risk you running up an astronomical bill for them. You can always save your money and purchase a pre paid cell this way you have limits. Talk to them about that they may be more willing. Otherwise, they may just feel that you are either not old enough or not mature enough to handle it right now.

that happened with me and my parents also at first, they said i was too young(16) and i didn't need it- but when i started taking classes in college i told them that i either need a car or a cell phone so i won't get any accidents happening to me while i'm waiting for them-now i am a proud owner of a razor, i'm sure you'll get it w/ time

Why exactly do you "need" it? I'm sure there are payphones at the pool or a place where you can use a phone because "the pool" implies that it's a public recreational area.

if you are a babysitter why don't you ask/ tell your parents if they pay for half yo u will come up with the other half or you could just pay for a cell phone with you babysitting job
