Hi:

Math is more than numbers. It about art, science, history, life, and adventure, romance, and understanding yourself and your place in the universe. Without math. Man could never reach the Moon, map the Earth, keep track of his expense. Build or paint his monuments or build the tools we use everyday life, Math is everywhere and everything. It is in nature and in every man made things. It is amazing that; Man can comprehend numbers at all. I could tell you stories after stories, how math as played a role in Man's History, Art, Science, And how they can to some of the discovery that they made. But I'm going to point you in the the right direction by listing some Sources for you. To start you off on a adventure of your own.

Math is the language by which people can describe the physical universe. How bright a star may be. How much paint to use when redecorating your room. What dosage to give you if you need medicine-so it doesn't kill you by mistake. It's the language to describe a lot of different important things. I had a difficult time with math myself but I still appreciate its value. It's one of the reasons I use computers, because I have trouble with both math and relating to physical space. (Visual perceptual difficulties.) Just learn what you can and find what's useful for you, even if that's getting a good grade. Sometimes fun stuff comes in the most unexpected ways. Back in the 1980s, people thought computers were only for people who were really interested in math or hard-core scientist types. But I learned to use computers by playing video games and now I use them to help me better understand mathematics and other boring stuff that I might still need to know to help me live better. And now I can use computers to help me write faster-speech recognition software which allows me to type by simply speaking-all based on mathematical principles. Boring stuff like usage statistics that are meaningless to me, but quite useful for the computer and since the computer understands them, I can use that to help me.

Oh gosh no. Mathematics is WAY more than numbers. In fact, in higher math, you really don't even need numbers at all.
It is quite fascinating, because you basically define the way a system operates, and then manipulate things within that system.

Math isn't just numbers. It's a way to think.

Math teaches us how to logically and systematical prove ideas.

The reason most people hate Math is that they focus on the numbers and don't look at the big picture.

Actually, it's not just numbers! Without math, we won't be living in a wonderful city because it includes geometry!!! How will architects ever know how to design a building by shape if they don't know anything about geometry?! Of course they'll learn it in other subjects but it's also related to math so put that in your mind!!!

Because math is like any other language with its own sets of rules. It can explain so many things that a regular language cannot. It shows up such things as Pi, the Golden Mean, and many other things. Its a beautiful creation of nature.

Math is very fascinating and useful. Believe me, you've used math in real life at least once. Math also helps us solve problems in science.

The thing that I like about math and numbers is there is no guess work on whether or not you are right. There is always a correct answer.

I don't know, I hate math. But I guess there's a certain entertainment value in being able to solve difficult problems, and it hooks u, so ur really in competition with urself or classmates to see who's smarter.
