haha I got a beta fish because I didn't think it would live sooo long but it's still around 2 years later. Try giving it to a friend but please don't flush it or just stop feeding it despite that it is just a tiny little fish it's cruel.

Give him away.
See if a worker at the pet store can take him.
Giving him to a friend might hurt if something
happens to it.
School time I would see if a Teacher wanted him,
and ask to leave a note in the Teachers room.
Putting the type of fish, my name and the Home Room
Teachers name on the paper. They could pick
him up there.

Take time to see a local aquarium shop. They will tell you how best to transfer him to the shop-or may, should you ask, do the exchange for you. Your beta can be bred quite successfully. The breeding habits of Betas and the males' role in after birth care are fascinating. Rather than keep the fish in an unwanted environment-arrange so someone who loves and understands Beta's needs might enjoy your unwanted pet.

you need to decide which is worse- watching him suffer, or watching him die. Maybe death would be a relief.

Ps most fish dont adapt well to water we have in our communities. IF he really is bloated like that, he might have a serious infection of some kind or a tumor. He's not happy like that. Flush him and let him have some freedom before he dies.

Give him away to someone who wont think he is annoying. How can a fish be annoying anyway? If you didn't want him then why did you buy him? Its not like he jumped out of his tank and demanded that you buy him.

Any kind of pet is a commitment for the duration of that pet's life. It's a big responsiblity, even with a fish.

You could see if a friend would want him. Otherwise your only other option would be to flush him - but that would be cruel.

Give him to a sibling or a friend.

You're a bad fish-parent. Be ashamed. Ashamed! I feel bad if you have a dog, having to take the time to feed him, give him water, brush him and play with him.

Shame.

Sounds like you're feeding him too much. Feed him every other day. Also, you sound like you don't want it at all. Post it on your local craigs list dot com; and give it away for free. Call a local pet store who may want it for free. It's a beautiful fish. Please take care of it.

Give your beta away, and next time your inclined to have a fish, here is a good one, requires no food, or fishbowl cleaning - and will make you laugh, and your friends laugh.

give him to a fish store. Most pet stores take in fish and will give you a couple dollars in store credit. If he's bloated, he probably has a tumor or parasite.....you can cure that with parasite treatments or he might die.
Try giving it to a friend if you don't want it.
