Just like a male President's wife is not called the "First Wife," a female President's husband would not be called the "First Husband." A president's wife is called the "First Lady," so Fmr. President Clinton would be the "First Gentleman" if Sen. Clinton wins the presidency.

What a nightmare you just gave me! Hillary having sex on the desk in the Oval Office! But I would have to say Bill would have to be First Husband, that is if Bill doesn't stroke out, before then. One could only hope. But Hillary won't make it. My prayers are always answered!

I don't know if that would be the term they would use for the spouse of a female president. Plus he would probably still be called President or Former President for his previous Presidency, though they would then have to use the full name instead of "President Clinton".

Actually, yes. And to all those people out there saying "It'll never, ever happen" well I've lived all my life in Arkansas and I can tell you that in 1990 when Clinton was being floated as a possible candidate every one of us to a man said "it'll never, ever happen". Well guess what...... Actually worse things can happen, like this fellow we have now.

NO!!! Or we have a very sexist issue on our hands.

The wife of the President is the First Lady. not the First Wife.

We equate, "boys to girls", "men to women", "husband to wife" and we equate "lady to gentleman".

So to be politically correct, he should be referred to as the First Gentleman.

If that was to happen, then yeah, it only makes sense.
He'd be the first "First Husband".
