I think it is because he is a smart non-white ,man who isn't from America..and people in America don't like people from other countries to say things they don't agree with..

Because although America claims to be a country of freedom of speech and openness to immigration, which it at one time was, now it is a country about getting rich staying rich and keep others poor and quiet...so ozzie isn't white , grew up poor in a porr country and has differewnt beliefs than the current idealogy of rich white american owned newspapers...it is only really ok to say what you want as long as the rich white people agree with it..if not they suspend you and try to change your values, and then they try to discredit you and fire you..keep you poor and silent..that's is why men like ozzie should have more power...he can lead people to accomplish things even though he wasn't born white rich and didn't go to college...this is who the poor americans should elect to president...not some rich son of a rich guy...

Ozzie's an asshole...that's why people don't like him. Same reason they didn't like John Rocker... an asshole's an asshole, regardless of their 'heritage'...
People don't hate David Ortiz... or Pedro Martinez (well, maybe some people do)...
If Hispanic newspapers don't think Ozzie's an asshole, then they're no better than the 'white' newspapers whom you claim hate him simply because he's Hispanic.
Ozzie's an asshole, always was, even as a player.

Oh, Jay Mariotti just has a bug up his patoot...he whines all the time. Ozzie Guillen is smart, savvy and outspoken and most of the media (white and non-) adore him because he always gives them a story. Go White Sox!

i absoulutely agree. Jay Mariotti is an a$$ hole, and if you don't know about him, watch around the horn on ESPN. Ozzie can complain about him all he wants. he probably needs to talk less so he doesn't get in trouble, because i know one the White Sox hit a bump in the road that fans won't like him nearly as much.

Exactly, you add that to the fact that American media expects everyone to hold their tongues and be politically correct all the time, then you've got the whole answer.
Plus the media is comprised of jerks that look to cause commotion.
