They are done. They did the final episode a few weeks back. Everyone is having twins, Lucy, Marry, & Matt/Sara.
They will still do re-runs, but there won't be anymore new episodes.

What happened was that back in November the WB network where it aired said that the show was costing too much, and it was going to be cancelled at the end of that current season. They said that the 10th season (2005-06) would be the show's last, and started planning the series finale.
Meanwhile, soon after, the WB network (where 7th Heaven airs) and the UPN network merged, forming a single new network called CW.
Then there started to be rumors and rumblings that 7th Heaven could be brought back and it was being considered for renewal by CW.
But those rumors were either shot down by CW spokesmen, or were inconclusive and could not be substantiated
In the meantime, everyone started preparing for the end of the series and they even had a "Countdown to Goodbye" in the spring, during the last few episodes.
Then after the series finale episode was filmed, rumors began that unlike other shows that had been cancelled, the sets on 7th Heaven had NOT been torn down, leading to new rumblings that 7th Heaven's cancellation was not definite.
Still there was not any substantiation, the Countdown to Goodbye continued, and then on May 8th, the series finale episode aired, surprisingly ending with a cliffhanger.
After the series finale aired, everyone thought that the show was over, but the rumors of a revival continued.
Then when the CW announced their fall lineup (May 18, I think??) they revealed that they were bringing back 7th Heaven.
They said that because of the high ratings and over 7 million people who saw the finale episode, they had decided to renew the show, and had contracted for 13 more episodes.
So 7th Heaven was brought back from the dead, and will now be on the fall lineup.
Unfortunately, 7th Heaven became a scapegoat because Everwood was cancelled at the same time of 7th Heaven's renewal, even though the CW renewed a lot of worse shows like One Tree Hill, and added stupid shows like Runway, as well.

Like the person said above, the WB and UPN have merged, and they picked 7th Heaven back up, because now they can afford it and because of the ratings being so high on the finale episode. But, they also picked up the BEST show in the world One Tree Hill <333
