Derk Jeter because no one in baseball is better than him, sure u may argue that there are better baseball players than him presently but those r power hitters look at his amazing defense all that u have to see is the play he made against tha A's a while ago in the playoffs with the flip to Jorge Posada or the catch diving into the stands agianst the red soxs.his batting adverage is consistanly above .300 and he gets the big hits to win games and he is also the captan over many great baseball players on his team.I think the only Yankee that was ever better than Jeter was Babe Ruth.

Come on lou, you left out some big ones No diMaggio, nowhotey ford. I would take Jack McDowell over Ron Guidry. I think Alvero Espinoza matches up well with Jeter. Honestly though, its gotta be the Babe. He is the greatest hitter of all time. No one before or since has put together a better set of overall skills, and no one has ever dominated a sport the way he did, with perhaps the exception of Micheal Jordan.

How in the world can a Red Sox fan have a favorite Yankee player!!! I KNOW I don't. I respect many of them as fine athletes, but not one of them would I categorize as my favorite Yankee. In my world, there just is no such person!!
