I am Korean, so I know that it's hard, especially if you don't live in a large korean community to find colors that work for you....

Our skin is really thin and delicate, so cleansing and makeup removal is really the most important step, but anyway...

j* Instead of foundation and powder, use a liquid twincake,
* Use a pale pink or a slightly peach blush
* Black liquid eyeliner is a must, but less is better
* Pale pink eyeshadow on the entire lid, white for highlighting, and a darker pink, or a gray for around your eyes... (especially if you don't have a ssang kap pul)
* Use the black art pencil for eyebrows rather than a conventional pencil, the graphite art pencils last forever and it's soooo natural.
* Keep lips glossy, and rosy, right now orange is also hot
* White pencil eyeliner on the lower eyes to make our eyes look bigger
* Always curl your eyelashes and apply mascara, ours tend to not curl and it really makes your eyes look bigger
* Always keep your eyebrows tidy, that also opens up your eyes
* Use a loose powder to set your makeup, I like Anna Sui, and they really don't sell it in american department stores, plus the container makes you feel like a princess

For brands, that depends on your budget and skin type. Remember always spend more on skin care than makeup
American people always spend more on makeup than skin care that's why Asians have better skin...

www.neobeauty.com and www.daybeauty.com sells korean makeup online... also www.joiseibi.com, but it's a japanese website...

Whatever you do, try to avoid western brands of makeup especially for foundation, b/c the colors never match, you can use MAC and Chanel depending on your skin tone, but other than that... it's really hard, b/c western people have pink and olive undertones, and we have yellow... so we either look too dark or too pink

Embrace the natural beauty of Asian. Stick with natural tone! Shiseido is a good brand.

Hmmm... well there are lots of makeups out there that are pretty good for Asians. But I would probably reccomend MAC or Sephora. My friend is Asian and she really likes those two places.

I don't use makeup but I live in an Asian community and there are lots of Shiseidos around so I guess they should be good for Asian people.

Well, I'm half Asian, I just wear colors to compliment my skin; purples, browns, bronzes, they all go very well. I clear lip gloss, and a sparkle blush, or no blush, all works very well! =) As for brands, I've got NYC lip gloss/blush, and all sorts of shadow, try the cheap stuff and slowly work your way up. You don't want to buy the most expensive only realizing that you can get cheaper makeup that works just as well! =]

If you prefer natural-looking makeup, BareEscentuals is great! They even offer a dvd to show you how to apply all the products provided in the box set!

you can order on the website, or cruise over to Sephora at the mall. if you prefer something else, Sephora will have tons of products and brands to choose from...plus there are cosmetic consultants everywhere! good luck!

well i am 1/2 asian. i think w/ the proper foundation and more nuetral colors are best. green looks good w/ brown eyes. i use pinks, browns, greens, white. i also use a bronzer and it makes me look like i have more color to my face. and a nude colored lip too.
