Is it a Lizard that thinks it's Jesus? If so , would that be competition for Kanye West? If not , why is it called that ? What does it look like?

This is the common local term for the lizard known as a Basilisk.
Genus is Basiliscus of the Iguanidae family within thier own subfamily of Basiliscinae there are 4-5 species the most common being; B. basiliscus, B.plumifrons, and B. vittatus

It's a name for a type of lizard that can sprint across water. I know that basilisks and water dragons can both do it, but I'm not sure whether the name refers only to one or the other.

Nah its one of those lizards that runs on water, but so far thats one point that it can do that Kanye west can't do. At least the lizard dosent sing about it.

You are funny. A Jesus Christ Lizard is a small lizard that runs so fast (on water) that it appears to be walking on water.

A lizard that can "walk" on hte water. I don't really think it does, though. It runs across and creates so much friction or whatever that it can sprint across the water.

aka, water dragon, known for their speed and ability to seemingly "walk on water" they have the ability to stand on their hind legs and race across small bodies of water, hence the name Jesus lizard.
no biblical reference implied.it looks like a small iguana, green in color but not nearly as large or heavy.

Umm I saw them in Costa Rica. They are these little lizards that can just skip across the water. Its really neat and TRUE!

its aclled the jesus lizard because it can run on water
its got really webbed feet and runs really quick so they nicknamed it the jesus lizard
