Go to a site that lists all bakeries in the world. Then, see if the name is taken or not. Try this site, as it lists all food & beverage manufactureres:

Yes, go to your search engine and type in the county or state that you live in and type "DBA look-up" or something along those lines. DBA means 'Doing Business As' and that is the term you need to use when looking for business names that are in use. :-)

Go to your state department of revenue - you should be able to do a search on registered businesses.
