Rafael Palmiero retired after being caught with roids, however Sosa is still a free-agent. The Nationals offered him a 600,000 dollar contract for 1 year but he would not sign because he still thinks that he is good enough for superstar money.

This is the last official word that I have heard from each of their publicist's is that neither has "officially" declared retirement. And as far as the suspension goes, you must be on a tweenty-five man roster to serve any suspension, which neither of them are. The last about Sosa that I heard is that he is in the Dominican Republic tending to his organization," The Sammy Sosa foundation," which tries to make schools and hospitals accessable for all there. And for Palmiero, he has not denied a "Comeback," of sorts, but what team would want to have him on their roster and have to be down one man for fifty games? NONE !!!

Sosa's career ended when he had to stop taking steroids and Palmiero will forever be black listed in the major leagues for giving up names of his own teammates about there use of steriods.

Sosa is gone because he couldnt play any more without the juice. Rafael retired because no one wants a player that lied to Congress and disgraced the sport.

Both died about a year ago...Sammy Sosa from riding his motorcycle without a helmet, and Rafael Palmeiro was shot on a hunting trip with Dick Cheney.

They are both playing in the Steriod Baseball League. Sammy plays for the Indianapolis Inject Me Monkeys and Raffy is playing with the Havana Anabolic Hyenas.
Both are setting league records for HR & RBI in their respective divisions.

Neither of them are playing. They haven't officially retired and they aren't suspended. They were free agents this past offseason but neither of them were signed so they just aren't playing. Sammy was almost signed by the Nationals but he wanted more money than they offered.

They both ran like the little sissy coward liars they are. Sosa couldn't get a gig outside of selling hot dogs in Baltimore, I suspect the same for the other junkie.

Both retired. Sammy's power "mysteriously" vanished...cough...steroids...cough...and since Palmeiro had a positive drug test for steroids, no team wants anything to do with him, plus he's 41 anyway. We'll have to see how the Hall judges both of them in five years.

They just kinda faded into oblivion after the steroid thing broke. Palmeiro, in particular, badly embarassed the game and is a sure thing to never be taken by an MLB team.
