We got some disc repair stuff from a GameStop. We have used it to fix CD's, DVD's and video game discs. The results have been amazing. We fixed an Eric Clapton DVD that I have not been able to watch for years. It's great stuff.
I have heard that you can use peanut butter. We tried it and it was just messy and it didn't work. Get some "Disc Skip Fixer". The GameStop brand is just $7.99. It worked like magic for us.

yeah i have one, i haven't been too thrilled with the results though. it works for cd's and dvd's with very minimal scratches, but in using it, you are making the cd more vulnerable to additional scratching in the future because of the way it works. when you use the disc doctor, it is removing a layer from the cd, removing the scratches if they are not too deep. but by doing this, as i said before, you are also effectively removing a layer of protection from the cd as well. so there are ups and downs i guess, but i would say that the downside is greater.
