I tried to get an answer to this about a week ago but noone really knew. I'm looking for the name of a movie with the song below in it. I don't remember a lot of details excepts there was a father and his son on a boat (maybe other people too) and they ran into a bad storm while at sea. It's an older movie, possibly 70's or 80's. Big thanks to you movie buffs helping me :-)

Tracie

Here's the song.....

What'll we do with a drunken sailor,
What'll we do with a drunken sailor,
What'll we do with a drunken sailor,
Earl-aye in the morning?

Chorus:
Way hay and up she rises (x3)
Earl-aye in the morning

1. Put him in the long boat till he's sober,
2. Keep him there and make 'im bale 'er.
3. Shave his belly with a rusty razor.
4. Put him in bed with the captain's daughter.

This song was included in Stand by Me and also the movie You'll Never Get Rich, whether it was or not, I can't remember:

"What'll we do with a drunken sailor,
What'll we do with a drunken sailor,
What'll we do with a drunken sailor,
Earl-aye in the morning?
Put him in a bunk with the Captain's daughter..."
"Earl-aye in the morning..."
----A windlass and capstan work shanty

(And by the way, the Captain's daughter was a close relative of the cat-o-nine tails (a whip) --not a real daugher)

Good luck.
